Spoilers: what episodes 1 to 3 reveal

Skip this section if you haven't watched the Oct 9 premiere batch.

• Episode 1, "On the Horizon": Jae sees Pavi earthbending during a festival that condemns the Avatar. When she airbends to save him in a sandstorm, it shows she is the Avatar. At the end she meets Nisha, a girl who looks just like her and can also bend all four elements.
• Episode 2, "Into the Storm": Pavi and Nisha realize they are twins. Karthik says the Avatar has never been reborn as twins before, but he still believes the Avatar is a force for good.
• Episode 3, "The Order": Karthik becomes commander of the Brigade and reveals that he belongs to the Order of the White Lotus, which still trains the Avatar. Jae joins the Order.

Where the story is set

The series takes place about 225 years after The Legend of Korra. The Seven Havens are the last strongholds of civilization after the Cataclysm, and Ellora is the haven where Pavi grows up. Outside the cities lie the desolate Harshlands, and spirits roam the world.

Behind the voices

The series was created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the creators of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. Jeremy Zuckerman, who scored both earlier shows, writes the music. Nickelodeon Animation and Avatar Studios produce it.

Where to watch

All episodes stream on Paramount+. New episodes of Book 1 arrive in Friday batches through Oct 30, 2026. See the full list on our Avatar: Seven Havens episode guide.
